Katie Price claims she’d have been ‘slated’ for doing I’m A Celebrity weeks after having a baby like Danny Miller

Katie Price reckons she’d have been hit with backlash if she’d taken part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here with a newborn baby at home, like Danny Miller.

The mother-of-five starred in series three of the hit survival show in 2004, and compared herself to former Emmerdale actor Danny, who welcomed his son Albert four weeks ago fiancée Steph Jones.

The 43-year-old reality star ranted about the possible double standard on her Instagram Stories, saying: ‘The guy with the newborn, I think it’s brilliant he’s come on the show.

‘Bearing in mind if I had just had a baby I am sure I would be slated, would just like to put that in.’

Katie was a mum-of-one during her stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, to her son Harvey, who was aged one at the time.

During Monday’s episode of Lorraine, Danny’s long-term partner Steph defended his decision to head up to Gwrych Castle for the ITV series, explaining that the pair had a long discussion beforehand and insisted it was a ‘big opportunity.’

‘It was a really difficult decision being so close to the birth.

‘But when we sat down and discussed it as a family, it’s a big opportunity and he’s always wanted to do it. It’s his favourite show to watch,’ she revealed.

The long-awaited series made its debut on Sunday, and Danny’s journey so far has been turbulent, to say the least.

Monday’s installment saw the star taking part in a gruesome eating trial, Dreaded Diner. Danny was the first celeb put forward for the challenge by the public vote, and he went up against Radio DJ  Snoochie Shy.

After five rounds of disgusting delicacies, Danny beat Snoochie and won a delicious meal for the yellow team.

Danny is currently enduring brutal conditions in the cells below the castle, with basic facilities and limited rations, alongside yellow team campmates Richard Madeley, Dame Arlene Phillips, Naughty Boy and David Ginola – who is emerging as quite the camp heartthrob.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns tomorrow at 9:15pm on ITV.
