Kay Burley made an unusual statement about Matthew Perry during an interview that made viewers uncomfortable.
On October 28, the actor died at the age of 54 at his Los Angeles home, and condolences have since poured in for the celebrity.
Friends cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer have lately gone to social media to reminisce on their time with their late co-star, which Kay, 62, shared on Sky News.
As the episode came to an end, entertainment analyst Ellie Phillips complimented Perry for being open about his addiction and helping others who were battling.
In response, Kay said: ‘Before you go, who was your favourite Friend?’
‘Chandler. I would say Chandler,’ she responded.

‘Was it?’ asked Kay.
Ellie then explained her decision: ‘He was so funny. He was someone you wanted to be around all the time.’
Kay wasn’t in agreement and instead decided to heap praise on another cast member.
‘Okay, I would probably say David Schwimmer for me,’ she insisted.
‘Oh the awkwardness,’ said Ellie. Her statement was referring to David’s character Ross Geller having that personality trait, but it also perfectly describes Kay’s hosting decision.
‘He was very funny. It was great to see you. Quick look at the weather,’ Kay concluded.
Perhaps Kay should have read the room a little better!
In response to a clip of the exchange, one person wrote ‘absolutely awful’ on X, formerly Twitter.
Another individual compared Kay to Alan Partridge, a fictitious broadcaster who is frequently impolite.
A third person remarked: ‘Lovely sensitivity there from Kay.’

Kay made a scathing remark about David Cameron’s weight earlier this week when hosting live coverage of his return to Downing Street on Sky News.
Sky News’ deputy political editor Sam Coates listed Mr Cameron’s employment since leaving government in 2016 with footage of the former Conservative Party leader stepping through the gleaming black door.
‘[Since] leaving the job of Prime Minister, did jobs that were controversial, wrote a memoir…,’ Coates said as Burley interjected: ‘Put on weight!’
