Line of Duty star Tommy Jessop has sparked speculation that he may be starring on the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing after quoting Sir Bruce Forsyth while revealing that he’s spending his day ‘dancing’.
It may be a while to go until the upcoming series of Strictly hits our screens later this year on BBC One.
Nonetheless, speculation is rife over who will be announced among the celebrity lineup, with stars including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz and Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn predicted as being potential contenders.
In a new tweet, Tommy, who recently reprised his role as Terry Boyle in the sixth series of Line of Duty, told his followers that he was going to be dancing ‘on Zoom’ today.
‘I’ll just say dancing today! (Just on zoom in my room). Yay!’ the 36-year-old wrote.
He then added: ‘In the words of #BruceForsyth #KeepDancing!’
Could this be a hint that Tommy is doing Strictly rehearsals over Zoom?
While it’s too soon to say for sure… that mention of the late Sir Bruce has us thinking it’s a possibility.
Tommy has past experience in dance, having had a short dance residency at the Royal Opera House with Culture Device.

He also led a 21-hour danceathon in 2019 celebrating people with Down syndrome to mark World Down Syndrome Day on March 21.
Over the weekend, Selling Sunset’s Christine set tongues wagging when she tweeted that she was on her way to the UK in a few months for a ‘big surprise’, with some assuming she was teasing a Strictly stint.
The 32-year-old real estate agent, who recently gave birth to her first child, wrote on Twitter: ‘PASSPORT IN HAND! I’m so excited to announce I will be coming to the UK in September for a big surprise!

‘I can’t wait to share more soon, but I look forward to finally meeting you guys!’
It was recently announced that Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Janette Manrara will no longer dance on the show as she’s going to be taking over Zoe Ball’s role as a presenter on It Takes Two.
Speaking on The One Show, she said: ‘I will not be dancing. I don’t want to well up because I have been welling up a lot today, but that has been the hardest part of accepting this amazing honour to join It Takes Two.
‘It’s the realisation that I will not be on that legendary Strictly dancefloor any more. But I feel that this is most beautiful and natural progression.
‘I am still a part of the Strictly family, I am still going to be seeing my fellow pros all the time and I will keep dancing, as they say. I will find a way to keep dancing.’
