Keith Lemon didn’t mince his words when it came to discussing Holly Willoughby’s exit from Celebrity Juice (Picture: ITV)

Keith Lemon remarked that Holly Willoughby ‘shouldn’t have left’ Celebrity Juice given that she called it ‘the best job on telly’.

Holly quit the comedy series – months after Fearne Cotton also departed – in May, with Emily Atack and Love Island’s Laura Whitmore later being named the show’s new team captains.

Joining Christine Lampard as she filled in for Lorraine Kelly on today’s programme, Keith touched upon the new line-up.

‘I’ve known them for about 10 years and Laura used to come and sit in the audience, which is weird,’ he began.

‘When Emily came out of the jungle she said to me, “I want Holly Willoughby’s job” and I said, “you’re not having it while Holly’s there.”

‘Then sadly she left and Emily’s there now. So it is a lot of fun. I’m very lucky, I think. Very lucky.’

Christine then pointed out: ‘Holly did say when she left that it’s the best job on telly…’

Keith hit back: ‘Well, she shouldn’t have left then!’

Despite Holly’s exit, newcomers Laura and Emily are eager to get stuck in.

‘I’ve been the biggest fan for years, I used to go and sit in the audience when I first moved to London and can’t believe I’m a team captain now!’ Laura enthused.

‘I can’t wait to see what Keith has got lined up for Emily and I this series… From past experiences, nothing would surprise me.’

Former Inbetweeners star Emily added: ‘Every time I’ve been on Juice in the past I’ve had such a good time, and now I’m doing it with two of my best mates and I’m a ruddy team captain!!! Can’t believe it.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
