Kerry Katona hasn’t had the easiest time of it recently, what with a gruelling and emotionally tasking time on SAS: Who Dares Wins, and now she’s revealed she ‘felt sick’ during her upcoming appearance on new Channel 4 show Celebrity Trash Monsters.

The new programme aims to shine a light on the nation’s consumer habits, with celebs asked to question the amount of waste they produce and cut down their household’s carbon footprint.

Comedian and climate change warrior Jon Richardson hosts the show, with John Barnes, Jodie Kidd and Kerry along for the ride.

But things didn’t get off to the best of starts for the former Atomic Kitten star and TV personality, after she took took part in an experiment which saw her forced to wear a trash suit which expanded as more rubbish was added.

‘I wanted to be sick, I’m not going to lie,’ Kerry said ahead of the series. ‘I hated every minute. Get me back on SAS Who Dares Wins or back in the Jungle, than one more day wearing that suit.’

The 41-year-old added: ‘I’d rather have a witchetty grub in my mouth any day than wear that trash suit again. If it was scratch and sniff TV, you would all be barfing up your dinners at home. I’m not even bulls****ing you.’

‘It actually ruined my whole experience of my new house. The house was so disgusting and smelly. My son had lobster one night so of course that ended up in the suit. It gave me a migraine. The suit was that heavy. It was cutting into the top of my shoulders.’

It hardly sounds like the nicest experience, but it did change Kerry’s perceptions on waste and its impact on climate change.

‘I think as a society, a lot of us, we are scared of asking questions because we don’t want to feel stupid. I want to learn. I want to be educated,’ she said.

It comes after Kerry went through brutal physical challenges on SAS: Who Dares Wins recently.

The singer suffered a ‘catastrophic failure’ in the physical challenges during one episode, one of which saw her crawl on a wire between two cliff faces over a sheer drop.

She also faced a brutal gas challenge, which saw her forced to breathe in tear gas which was like being ‘suffocated’.

Celebrity Trash Monsters: What’s Your Waste Size? airs on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
