Kim Kardashian has revealed she feared her older sister Kourtney would ‘find [her] dead’ during the highly orchestrated heist she fell victim to in Paris, France in 2016.
The model and businesswoman opened up about the armed robbery during an appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman season three, and described the thoughts that raced through her head as she was attacked in their room at the Hôtel de Pourtalès.
The events took place during Paris Fashion Week and saw criminals steal jewellery worth $10million (£7million) as Kim’s bodyguard was with her sisters at the time.
‘I kept on thinking about Kourtney, I kept on thinking, like, she’s gonna come home and I’m gonna be dead in the room and she’s gonna be traumatised for the rest of her life,’ Kim recalled, according to US Weekly.
She told David that after hearing noises by the door to her hotel, she felt as though ‘someone was there to get [her],’ so she dialled for assistance.
But before she knew it, a gang of intruders made their way into her room and demanded that she gave them a ring her husband Kanye West had gifted her.
Kim also disclosed she was only wearing a robe during the time of the robbery and how one of the intruders had ‘grabbed her’.
‘I was like, “OK, this is the time I’m gonna get raped,’ she said. ‘Like deal, this is gonna happen, just prepare yourself.
‘So, I did and then — I don’t know why I’m crying, I’ve talked about this before — and then he tied me up with handcuffs and zip-ties and then duct tape and duct-taped my mouth and my eyes.’
In October, while in the city for fashion week, the reality star and mogul was the victim of a terrifying heist which saw armed intruders tie her up as they made away with millions of dollars worth of jewellery.
Kim has spoken of the traumatic events before and said in 2019 that she felt she was to blame for the robbery.
‘I definitely see the things that I brought on myself, the biggest being the robbery,’ she said. ‘Just being flashy and oversharing my every move on social media.
‘But I enjoy my life. Someone said to me the other day, “What is it like being you?” It’s awesome.’
My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman season 3 arrives Wednesday 21 October on Netflix.
