Netflix actor Golda Rosheuvel has been revealed as joining the Doctor Who cast, with fans treated to a fresh new teaser.
The 53-year-old actress is most known for her role as Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton and its spin-off series, as well as her appearance in the sci-fi classic Dune.
The icon will now feature in the forthcoming Doctor Who season with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, who play the Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday.
This is not the actress’s first appearance in the Doctor Who world, as fans recall.
Golda will portray Jocelyn in the Doctor and Ruby’s first trip in the Tardis, according to a confirmation on Sunday.
Before Jocelyn appears in the Whoniverse, viewers may wish to revisit Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, in which the 53-year-old played Dr Angela Connolly for two episodes.
‘OG’s remember when she was in Torchwood!’ an X user called Matt wrote after the latest announcement.
After another user going by the handle @CuriosityRocks tweeted: ‘Welcome to the Whoniverse Family, Golda 😘😘,’ someone else called CJ corrected them, responding: ‘Welcome back*.’

Julie Anne Robinson directed the opening of Doctor Who’s new series, in which Golda will play newbie Jocelyn, while showrunner Russell T Davies wrote the script.
Following the announcement of her joining the BBC series cast, Russell said it has been ‘amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton’.
He added it has ‘been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season’.
The season debut will be a double bill, including a second episode starring Jinkx Monsoon.
Her episode will see the Doctor and Ruby travelling back in time to meet The Beatles at the start of their spectacular career in the 1960s.
Fans won’t have long to wait until the new season concludes, with the first episodes premiering on BBC iPlayer and Disney+ at midnight on May 11.
As the countdown continues, fans were treated to a fresh new teaser for the next season.
The trailer depicts the Doctor and Ruby travelling across the galaxy and back and forth in time, from 1960s England to a time when dinosaurs dominated the planet.
And, in an extraordinarily meta move, actress Millie proclaims ‘this is so Bridgerton‘ as they explore the same time period as the Netflix series.
Things are certain to get dangerous however, but Ncuti’s Doctor is the one for the job, as he declares ‘I will shatter this silly little battlefield into dust. In a heartbeat, into dust.’
Fans have, naturally, been losing their mids over the surprise trailer dropping as an Easter treat, with Instagram user x_jessx_ joking ‘earthquakes were made from jaws dropped around the globe’.
‘This is going to be INCREDIBLE,’ user Drwhotv wrote, while degraftishere called it a ’10/10 trailer’.
‘I’m going to explode this looks amazing,’ black_is_traditional declared, and mochamutts said it all as they shouted ‘I’M SO EXCITED OH MY GOD.’
It follows the confirmation that previous showrunner Steven Moffatt would write one episode for the next season, which the BBC claims will be a ‘explosive’ comeback.
Russell directed the 2005 revival of Doctor Who, and Steven wrote a two-episode storyline.
From 2010 until 2017, Steven served as the lead writer and showrunner for the sci-fi BBC series, where he was instrumental in casting Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi.
The next series of Doctor Who will begin on May 11 on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
