*Warning, story contains spoilers for Line Of Duty series 6 episode 6.
Line of Duty fans think they’ve spotted a major spoiler about H’s secret identity – and it’s in plain sight on Anna Maxwell Martin’s Instagram.
The actress’ character DCS Patricia Carmichael recently made her returned and revealed AC-12 is merging with AC-9 and other units due to anti-corruption cuts.
Sunday’s episode saw DCI Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) brought into questioning, along with that laptop she’s messaged H on.
A big clue throughout the series has been the enigmatic character’s identity is that they spell ‘definitely’ as ‘definately’.
Some viewers grew sceptical about the idea Carmichael could be the one everyone’s looking for, as one fan shared a snap of her and wrote: ‘If you seriously think Anna Maxwell Martin is H, ask yourself whether this is the face of someone who would misspell “definitely” #LineOfDuty.’
However, another eagle eyed fan shared a picture of a recent Instagram post, and replied: ‘Apparently she does…’
Anna had shared a snap of her dog, and captioned the seemingly inoccuous post: ‘Definately mama to this bank drain.’

Another added: ‘HOLY F*** SHE HAS BASICALLY TOLD US ALL. (sic)’
And when the post was shared five whole weeks ago, a different fan simply wrote at the time: ‘Note the misspelling of definitely’.
It’s not the only cue though.
Die-hard fans will know that four dots signify the letter ‘H’ in morse code and that Dot Cottan (Craig Parkinson) previously revealed in his dying declaration that there were four corrupt officers on the force.
Carmichael had been interviewing Jo when she repeatedly smashed her pen down four times – with the response not going unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans.
Sharing their findings on social media, one viewer pointed out: ‘Carmichael is H. She tapped her pen four times – H in morse code – and took a sip of water. The guilty ones always drink water in the interview room.’
‘Carmicheal tapped her pen 4 times! She is BENT. SHE IS H,’ another added.
Releasing their inner Sherlock, a third said: ‘Carmichael tapping her pen 4 times just like Cotton did when he was dying.’
Could the Instagram post and pen tap just be red herrings to throw everyone off the scent, or is there more than meets the eye?
We’ll find out in six days!
Line of Duty continues at 9pm on BBC One on Sunday.
