Line of Duty fans were in shock on Sunday night, after DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) discovered for the first time that Tommy Hunter was both her dad and her uncle.
In distressing scenes, Jo was informed during an interrogation from AC-12 that her mother was raped by her uncle as a teenager.
One of the biggest bombshells of the season so far was the reveal that DCI Joanne Davidson has the blood relative connection to the OCG (Organised Crime Group) – and there was even more to it than people realised.
New evidence found that the homozygosity of her DNA match was ‘unusually high’ – which suggested a specifically tight genetic make-up with Tommy.
Fans spotted on an investigation board a note that reveals that Joanne was the result of an inbred relationship, but many did still not know the revelation was coming.

Jo discovered the news on Sunday’s episode, and it made for one of the most distressing moments of the series so far.
After being told the information, Jo burst into tears and was visually distressed.
‘No, he was my uncle. That’s not true,’ she said during the difficult sequence.
Writing on Twitter, fans shared their shock, saying: ‘Uncle and father!!! Mother of God.’
‘Uncle and FATHER what in the Jeremy Kyle is going on?!’ another added.
After a week of speculating if Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) or Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper) was killed in the shootout, tonight’s episode also gave us the answer.
Ryan will killed and discovered by Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin) and Chloë Bishop (Shalom Brune Franklin).
Line of Duty continues at 9pm on BBC One.
