Fans are fearing the worst about Terry Boyle’s fate (Picture: BBC)
Line Of Duty fans are worried that Terry Boyles will end up in a body bag as series 6 continues after a suspicious tweet from creator Jed Mercurio.
The character, played by Tommy Jessop, has been around since the first chapter of the acclaimed drama and is a vulnerable target who has been repeatedly exploited by the Organised Crime Group (OCG).
In scenes that aired last night, Terry was almost killed off by police officer and OCG member Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper), who caused the vehicle they were traveling in to crash into a lake. He then proceeded to savagely murder a fellow officer.
Following the episode, Jed praised Tommy’s portrayal as Terry and wrote: ‘The brilliant @tommyjessop performs part of the action sequence from Episode 3 in the water tank at Titanic Studios.
‘Everyone on #LineofDuty6 loved working with you. You can be immensely proud of your achievements.’
Fans wasted no time in reading into the tweet and immediately jumped to the conclusion that Terry will soon be killed off when the penultimate episode arrives later this week.

Voicing their concern, one wrote: ‘“Everyone on #LineofDuty6 loved working with you.” I fear that the use of loved instead of loves could indicate that Tommy won’t be in the next series OR that there isn’t going to be a 7th.’
‘Oh man @tommyjessop is bloody outstanding! I have a bad feeling he’s not going to survive this season though and there will be so many tears across the nation if this is the case,’ another added.
Is this a huge clue from the man himself that Terry’s days are numbered?
On top of whether Terry will survive the series, there are also concerns about DI Kate Fleming’s (Vicky McClure) fate.
Line Of Duty continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
