Little Mix: The Search presenter Chris Ramsey was a blessing behind-the-scenes of the BBC series, helping to calm contestants before they went on stage.

According to winners Since September, the comedian would pay a visit to each of the bands, with Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall also doing the same.

Chris Ramsey would come over and talk to the bands for about 10 minutes before we went live and the girls would do the same,’ they shared in an exclusive interview with Metro.co.uk.

‘That’s the kind of stuff you don’t catch on camera but it really helped contestants, because it’s Chris Ramsey off of the telly!’

Band member Harry continued: ‘Chris would come over for a bit and chill everyone out and it’s those lovely little touches you don’t see.’

Since September stormed the final of Little Mix: The Search on Saturday night, and will be going on to support the girls on their Confetti tour next year.

Jesy was absent from the last episode due to an illness, with her reps announcing the news on the day.

The band revealed they have yet to hear from Jesy since she pulled out of the episode, telling us: ‘She was sorely missed. It was strange seeing three chairs and not four. We’ll see her soon though.’

Despite that, the rest of the Little Mix team seemed delighted with Since September’s victory.

‘They were just so happy,’ Harry said. ‘We met them afterwards and it was just so nice to see how excited they were. They were really convincing.’

Little Mix: The Search is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
