Location, Location, Location viewers were rattled after a prospective buyer declared she ‘doesn’t have enough money’ for the property she wanted despite having a budget of £950,000.
Zoe and are partner Jason recruited the help of presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer to find them their dream home as they returned to their native Edinburgh after a decade living and working in Hong Kong.
They revealed they had just shy of £1million to buy a flat around their preferred area, £850,000 of which was in cash.
On their checklist, were four bedrooms, a kitchen-diner, and Georgian features, however, despite the large sum, the couple’s quest wasn’t getting off to a good start.
Speaking to Phil after one viewing, Zoe said: ‘I’m starting to think, do we want a house? The things that we’re finding wrong with them are because they’re flats.’
‘Look, let’s not be disheartened,’ Phil replied. ‘Have a think overnight.’

‘Imagine having a budget of £950k & saying “we don’t have enough money to buy the house we want”,’ one vented.
‘That silly bint has gone from sighing that she only has a £950,000 budget (£850,000 of it in CASH) to buy a house, to moaning that a house she can afford is too big.’
By the end of the programme, however, Zoe and Jason managed to secure their dream home with a cash offer of £625k.
