Location, Location, Location host Phil Spencer has opened up about whether or not he would like to join Strictly Come Dancing in the future.
Ahead of the new series of his Channel 4 show, the presenter revealed exclusively to Metro that both himself and his co-host Kirstie Allsopp have been approached to join the BBC dance competition in the past.
‘We’ve been asked. Kirstie is a huge fan of Strictly but we are gainfully and wonderfully employed by Channel 4,’ said Phil.
‘I’m grateful for that and I wouldn’t want to rock that boat by appearing on the BBC at prime time on Saturday night.’
Strictly has regularly featured stars getting in on the fun from outside the BBC.
Last year Jamie Laing – who is famous for being on E4’s Made in Chelsea – made it to the final.
This year’s roster of TV personalities also includes many who work on competing channels, like AJ Odudu, John Whaite, who appears weekly on ITV’s Lorraine, Loose Women’s Judi Love and Robert Webb, who rose to fame in Channel 4’s Peep Show.
It’s also unlikely that Phil and Kirstie’s show would ever be in direct competition with Strictly (or even It Takes Two) since Location, Location, Location starts again Wednesday 29 September at 8pm.
Once again, we’ll see the dynamic duo trying to please picky house hunters and hopefully finding them the perfect home in the perfect location.
As for what TV show Phil would like to appear on next, he said: ‘I’m a farmer’s son, so I’d love to do something on the countryside.
‘I thoroughly enjoyed making my stately homes series, so something else along that theme would be nice.
‘And we’re two-thirds of the way through making the next series of Kirstie And Phil’s Love It Or List It, which is great fun.’
