Warning: spoilers ahead for episode 3 of Loki.

The latest episode of Marvel series Loki on Disney Plus finally confirmed the God of Mischief’s sexual orientation in the MCU, leaving ‘screaming and crying’ fans ecstatic.

In episode three of the apocalyptic show, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the Loki variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) board a train heading to an evacuation vessel after landing on the planet of Lamentis-1 during an apocalypse in the year 2077.

While on the train, the pair get to know each other a little better, with Sylvie telling Loki that she’s in a long-distance relationship with a ‘postman’, before asking about his love life.

‘Must’ve been would-be princesses or perhaps, another prince?’ Sylvie asks.

‘A bit of both. I suspect the same for you,’ Loki replies.

While in Norse mythology, Loki is described as being bisexual, with Marvel writer Al Ewing stating that he is bisexual in the comics, this marks the first time his sexual orientation has been referenced in the MCU.

Numerous viewers have celebrated this new development, with one saying they’re ‘screaming and crying’ over ‘finally’ having ‘some bisexual representation’.

‘LOKI IS CONFIRMED BISEXUAL IM SO HAPPY,’ someone else tweeted.

‘LOKI AND SYLVIE BOTH GOT CONFIRMED TO BE BISEXUAL THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE,’ another said.

Other fans have interpreted Loki as confirming he is pansexual, with one stating: ‘WE GOT LOKI CANON PANSEXUAL HOLY F**K I’M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW?’

‘”A bit of both” I’M SCREAMING!!!!!!!!! YES LOKI!!!!!!! BISEXUAL or pansexual? GENDERFLUID ICON!!!’ another remarked.

Last year, it was rumoured that Loki may have male and female love interests in his eponymous Marvel show.

However, it’s yet to be seen whether romantic interests will be introduced for the Asgardian trickster.

In a promo video for Loki, it was confirmed that Loki is gender-fluid in the MCU, which he was also depicted as in Norse mythology.

At the end of episode three, Loki and Sylvie are seemingly stuck on a planet in the midst of destruction after failing to help an evacuation vessel escape the apocalypse.

So will Loki and Sylvie manage to escape the seemingly impossible situation in episode four?

Loki returns on Wednesday and is available to watch on Disney Plus.
