Carol McGiffin has publicly backed Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election in America.

The Loose Women panelist, who joined the show from home, said she would rather have Trump serve another term than ‘someone who can barely remember their own name’.

Her comments came as she defended actress Kirstie Allie who shared on Twitter that she has voted for Trump for a second time.

‘It’s obvious people were going to have a go,’ she said on Monday’s episode.

‘They’re supposed to be liberal but most liberals can’t take different opinions.

‘You should be allowed to vote for whoever you want to vote for.

‘People threaten death to Donald Trump like it’s okay because it’s Donald Trump. It annoys me.’

She added: ‘If I was in the US now, rather than someone who can barely remember their own name, I probably would vote for Donald Trump.’

The current president is running against Joe Biden in the election.

Actress Kirstie said on Twitter last week: ‘I’m voting for @realDonaldTrump because he’s NOT a politician. I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason. He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it.’

The former Celebrity Big Brother star shared that she had come under fire from people who disagreed.

‘Don’t think I’ve ever seen so much name-calling in my life. Definitely not on my site here anyway I guess I’m not allowed to have a viewpoint without being called a really nasty names by what I’m going to suppose are really nasty people,’ she tweeted.

Kirstie later added: ‘Stick to your guns. Not always easy to be under fire but always easier than going against your own integrity. & JUST REMEMBER: if it takes thousands to try & bring u down, you must be one powerful Mfer Love wins.’

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
