Kaye Adams, a Loose Women panellist, has opened out about her ‘terrifying’ health incident that occurred just minutes before a recent live broadcast.
The 61-year-old was wearing her earpiece, ready for the magazine event on Friday, January 19, when something went awry.
‘I’ve just had the most traumatic 48 hours, here’s a little Sunday story for you,’ Kaye said on social media talking to the camera about the scary moment.
Kaye was ‘absolutely terrified’ when she suddenly couldn’t hear anything out of her right ear just moments before ITV the show began, she revealed.
‘On Friday when I was doing Loose Women minutes before we went on air my right ear just went dead,’ Kaye began.
‘I put my earpiece in and there was no sound, and I couldn’t hear a thing. I was absolutely terrified,’ she explained, adding that she somehow got through the programme and panicked afterwards.

Online, the advice for her symptoms was to go to A&E.
‘So the next day I go to A&E in Glasgow,’ the presenter continued, before thanking some of the staff who got to the bottom of her hearing problem.
‘They were amazing, absolutely amazing. Anita the nurse, thank you, we discovered we had the same birthday except she’s a year younger than me. B****,’ Kaye joked.
‘But my god she was fantastic. Then I had to go and get an audiogram, and I went to Boots in Glasgow and squeezed myself in. Paula, thank you, you were amazing. Absolutely incredible, thank you.
‘I am embarrassed to say this because my head was going to some terrible, terrible tumour, you know.
‘I’m very melodramatic, and Paula pulled out the biggest bit of wax you have ever seen,’ Kaye revealed.
Introducing the video on social media, Kaye wrote: ‘I’ve had the most traumatic 48 hours. Here’s where happened…
‘And a big thank you to @bootsuk and @nhsggc – Anita and Paula you were truly incredible with this melodramatic 61 year old woman!’
Despite her health issues, Kaye maintained her professionalism as an anchor on the panel programme, which included Katie Piper, Myleene Klass, and Nadia Sawalha, as well as celebrity guest Chloe Madeley.
Quite the opposite, Kaye seemed cool and composed as usual on Friday’s show, despite the terrifying turn of events minutes before going live.
The anchor has extensive expertise on live television, having presented Loose Women since 1999.
She left the show in 2006 for five years to serve on the panel of Channel 5’s morning show The Wright Stuff, but returned in 2013 and has been there ever since.
