Devoted Lord of the Rings fans have been sharing their thoughts and opinions over the upcoming Amazon Prime prequel online, and Rings of Power star Ema Horvath has seen it all.
The Amazon Prime series, which will take place thousands of years before the events of Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.
Rings of Power is based on the appendices of JRR Tolkien’s The Lords of the Rings novels, as well as The Silmarillion, Tolkien’s Unfinished Tales, and The History of Middle-Earth.
His Dark Materials’ Morfydd Clark and Game of Thrones’ Robert Amarayo are some of the notable names starring in the highly-anticipated series.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk at the stunning premiere in London, Ema who plays Eärien in the fantasy hailed her involvement in the beloved franchise as an ‘honour,’ but explained there were also some ‘intimidating aspects to it.’
‘I didn’t think about [fan reactions] at first, but I’ve been on Reddit a lot, and that was a wakeup call,’ she said.

‘But it’s actually been enjoyable. I’ve met a lot of the hardcore fans through that and they haven’t been as scary as I thought they would be, so that’s actually been cool.’
Rings of Power was reportedly bought by Amazon for $250 million (£213 million) and committed to five seasons of production – the cost for which is rumoured to total $1 billion (£855 million)
Making it the most expensive TV show ever produced.
So prepare for some epic scenes!
When asked about what viewers can expect from the prequel, Emma enthused: ‘I’m going to steal something from J.A [Bayona] one of the showrunners. He said he wants children to feel like they’re witnessing something important.
‘Like they are adults when watching it, and the adults to feel like children again. I would agree with that.’
The cast has previously warned everyone that the upcoming series is much scarier than the blockbuster hit – which starred Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen.
During an interview with Metro.co.uk, Ema, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, (Queen Mireil) and Lloyd Owen (Elend )revealed that they were actually confronted by the monsters.
‘I saw one once in the parking lot which is hilarious,’ Cynthia said.
‘You see someone in very extensive make-up with someone holding their hand.
‘These incredible performers who do this creature work and it is a very particular skill set but when you’re standing up close to a performer with all that make-up on and you don’t see the performer, in person it’s shocking.’
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime airs Friday September 2.
