Lorraine Kelly offers to pose naked on TV for new painting series

Lorraine Kelly has offered to get naked for a life modelling competition.

The cheeky 61-year-old made the proposition to Jenny Eclair during her daytime TV show, saying she thinks it would be ‘a lot of fun’ to strip for a new TV show.

Drawers Off, hosted by Jenny, sees a group of amateur painters show off their skills as artists – as one-by-one they have to take off their clothes to pose for a life drawing.

Completely taken with the idea, Lorraine came up with her own spin on the competition pitch to Jenny.

She told her: ‘Inevitably there has to be a celebrity version of Drawers Off. It has to happen. And you know, I’m up for it. I think it could be great fun!’

‘Oh let’s hope so!,’ Jenny laughed. ‘We don’t want anybody to be dragged kicking and screaming to the podium and forced to strip, that’s not what the show is about.

‘The show is about making people feel very comfortable with very little on. But you know, with modesty protected. I mean we’re working with people who come from backgrounds where, you know, you aren’t allowed to just sort of flaunt. So there’s sensitivity to it.’

‘As people get older some people get really sort of uptight about these things,’ she added.

‘I’ve always been a bit of a flaunter myself, I’m not that fussed. I’ve done life modelling so I know what it’s like to be both sides of the canvas.’

Drawers Off, which will see participants compete for a cash prize after baring all, starts Monday at 5.30pm on Channel 4.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
