Lorraine Kelly was not shocked when Grace Dent abruptly left I’m A Celebrity… As she observed the placards, she said, “Get Me Out Of Here!”
The departure of culinary critic Grace from the programme on’medical reasons’ was revealed on Monday morning.
The announcement occurred after fans expressed worry that Grace appeared ill, and she went extremely quiet and barely responded when told on Sunday night that she would be taking on the next Bushtucker challenge.
Lorraine discussed the shocking resignation with Good Morning Britain hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid on Tuesday’s broadcast.
While the GMB hosts were stunned, Lorraine said, ‘I’m not surprised to be honest, she looked really weary and incredibly worn.’
Later, on her own programme, she spoke with former I’m A Celeb star Jake Quickenden, who stated Grace’really lost herself’ in the jungle and was ‘crushed’ when she found out she had been chosen for the trial.

And while she said she ‘feels sorry’ for Grace, she also said that people should know what to expect from the massively popular show.
‘At this stage in the game, everyone should know what they’re in for.
‘But you don’t really know until you’re there, do you?’
She added that she thought Grace would ‘be involved in debates, I expected her to clash with the likes of Nigel Farage, but she took herself out all the time. She took herself out of the situation, which actually is probably quite a good thing, protecting your mental health.’
Jake concurred that it was challenging in ways you don’t realise until you’re there, since you never know what time it is or how long you’ve been sleeping, and that he suffered the most when it rained, which the current series has seen a lot of.
A spokesperson for I’m A Celeb announced Grace’s departure with a short statement, writing: ‘Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.
‘She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.’
During the programme on Sunday night, she seemed pale and stated on camera, ‘I just want to go home.’

And on Friday, she was picked to take part in the Touchdown of Terror, but insisted: ‘I’ve had enough. I’ve completely had enough. I just want to go home.’
Despite being chosen for the Down The Tubes experiment, she didn’t provide much of a reaction and was silent while presenters Ant and Dec were in camp.
Grace will be replaced in the trial by Danielle Harold, who garnered the most votes after her and Josie Gibson, who is also participating.
Her departure occurs less than a week into the series.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
