Love Island star Brett Staniland’s twin brother had to stop managing his social media accounts after viewers sent ‘relentless’ nasty messages about his appearance.
Scott Staniland, who models with Brett, was running his brother’s Instagram when he entered the villa as a bombshell, and he is currently coupled up with Priya Gopaldas (although it might not be for much longer).
However he decided to let a friend take the reigns after he was inundated with comments from nasty trolls and found himself fixated on reading them.
He told the BBC: ‘I’m his identical twin so anything I see about appearance, or what he’s like, I take it so personally.
‘Honestly after a day, I’ve not told many people this, I handed the login over to a friend who’s used to managing online communities.
‘So I was really grateful for that, because I was up until four o’clock on the first night reading every quoted tweet, every reply, every comment, DM, all of that stuff.’
The 27-year-old went on: ‘They are talking about really bad people, and people that have committed serious crimes that he looks like apparently.
‘There’s just no boundaries. I had people sending voice notes and trying to call me on Instagram and FaceTime me.’
The model urged viewers to ‘have a laugh but know when to stop, know where the line is’.
However he added that a lot of messages he has seen have been positive and supportive of Brett.

Sunday night’s episode hinted all was not well between him and Priya, as she confessed she got the ‘ick’ on their dinner date.
Speaking to Kaz Kamwi and Liberty Poole in scenes that were aired on Aftersun, Priya admitted: ‘He’s quite boring. I feel like sometimes when he holds my hand I feel like it’s my dad holding my hand, you know? Or like, my best mate.’
She cringed: ‘Honestly I just don’t want to kiss him. I’ve got the ick. I’ve actually got the ick.’
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
