Love Island’s Jake Cornish was back posting on his Instagram page after falling ill after leaving the ITV2 show, providing an update to followers on his health.

Jake was coupled up with Liberty Poole during their stint in the villa but they left just days from the finale after realising their relationship was no longer working.

Fans of the dating competition were eager to find out how the pair were getting on during the reunion show after all the islanders had flown home.

But he was absent from the big Love Island Aftersun reunion, with host Laura Whitmore.

He’s now returned to socials, hinting he was still not back to full health as he could be heard with a slightly husky voice and coughed during his videos.

He said to fans: ‘Jakey C’s back! I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who looked out for me the past week and sent your love and support to me – it means the world.

‘Obviously lying in bed, reading your messages, it puts a smile on your face.’

Providing an update on his health, Jake reassured those watching: ‘Just so you know, I am okay. Mentally, I am fine as well, so thank you for asking.

‘I’m back now – let’s have a bit of fun!’ he added in his message.

As well as being a no-show at the reunion episode, he was nowhere to be seen at Liberty’s birthday bash or the National Television Awards, with many viewers concerned for the star.

But Jake was in good spirits during the clip, telling followers to keep their ‘eyes peeled’ for something coming up from him.

It comes after the 24-year-old claimed there were some scenes which were not aired on Love Island, when answering questions in a Q&A.

A fan told him that in their opinion, it was ‘well unfair the way the public reacted to u on the show [sic]’.

The islander replied: ‘If people knew what was said which wasn’t aired I think people would believe differently.’

But it is unclear what the contestant was claiming had been cut from the episodes.

Love Island can be viewed in full on the ITV Hub.
