Love Island 2021: Jake Cornish storms out villa after girls doubt his declaration of love to Liberty Poole

Love Island’s Jake Cornish fled the villa in scenes that aired on Sunday night after finding out his fellow contestants didn’t think he was being genuine when he told Liberty Poole he loves her.

It quickly transpired that the girls weren’t totally convinced by Jake’s declaration, with Chloe Burrows wondering whether he was just telling Liberty something she ‘needed to hear’.

Toby Aromolaran broke the news to his friend, with the 24-year-old water engineer abruptly storming off.

‘I need to get out of this place,’ Toby announced.

He then charged through the villa to the toilets, with a concerned Toby following hot on his heel.

‘I’m just going to sit outside here,’ Toby said as he checked in to see whether Jake was okay.

Jake soon came out of the loos though and headed straight towards the front door.

‘I’ve got to get out of this place,’ he said again, before taking a seat on the steps outside.

Reflecting on the scenes at hand, Toby said in the Beach Hut: ‘It’s not a nice chat to have, it’s like bringing someone off their high.

‘You don’t want to bring a friend off their high, but you also want to give them the opinion you would want if the shoe was on the other foot.’

After having a chat with Chloe and Faye Winter, Jake soon calmed down and managed to quash any bad blood.

But the bad news didn’t stop there as he and Liberty face being dumped from the villa tonight after his fellow contestants voted them least compatible.

Priya Gopaldas and Brett Staniland, Faye and Teddy Soares, and Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson also received votes, meaning they too are at risk.

Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, Millie Court and Liam Reardon, and Chloe and Toby, however, didn’t receive a single vote.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
