The first episode of Love Island 2021 is just hours away, and Laura Whitmore has given us all a sneak preview of her glam look for the launch show – including a truly iconic piece of themed jewellery.
The host is preparing to act as chief matchmaker on the new series, with all eyes on the new islanders as they enter the villa.
The programme has been absent from screens since early 2020 – with last summer’s series cancelled due to the Covid pandemic – and stars and fans are more ready than ever for it to return.
One thing’s for sure, Laura certainly looks the part ahead of tonight’s show.
Laura posted pictures of her launch show look, which features a blue and white two piece, shoes by Kat Maconie and a unique piece of Love Island jewellery.
The 36-year-old proudly showed off her hair clip which spells out the immortal Love Island catch phrase ‘my type on paper’, and we’re so here for it.
There are 11 contestants kicking things off in the villa in their quest to find love this evening.
The upcoming season will make history with Hugo Hammond becoming the first-ever disabled contestant to appear on the dating show after bosses said the programme will feature its most diverse line-up yet.
Laura arrived in Spain along with her baby daughter last week as preparations got underway on the new series.
The TV presenter flew over to Palma de Mallorca airport on Thursday along with two of her stylists. Meanwhile, husband Iain Stirling, who narrates the series, is set to stay in the UK due to travel restriction fears.
Laura will return to host the summer series after taking over from late presenter Caroline Flack for the winter edition last year.
The TV star recently shared her excitement for the series and hopes to honour Flack, who died by suicide in February 2020.
In an Instagram post, Laura wrote: ‘Hope you enjoy talking about them and following their journey and just a reminder to treat them with love, compassion and respect when they leave the show and go back to real life.
‘Caroline I hope we do you proud. One week to go.’
Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
