Love Island 2021 star Liberty Poole is on track to be one of the highest earners of this year’s series – and her split from Jake Cornish may have actually helped her out in the long-run.
The 21-year-old was left sobbing as she ended things with her boyfriend, telling him she doesn’t feel like he loves her, with the pair leaving the villa together.
Despite not going on to the final of the show, Liberty still looks set for major opportunities after the villa due to fans throwing so much support behind her.
Liberty is currently projected to earn up to £18,795.43 per sponsored post on Instagram, according to digital agency 10 Yetis, with the star recently breaking 911,000 followers and overtaking Millie Court.
Stella Reilly, PR Expert and Account Manager at W, added: ‘Splitting from Jake will benefit her post Love Island opportunities in my opinion.
‘In previous years (e.g Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham), strong couples have had equal public support however, in recent weeks, the public have sided with Liberty and there’s been an outpouring of support for her as an individual compared to support for the “Jiberty” couple.
‘This switch occurred following Casa Amor where many saw his actions and egging on other Islanders in couples, as tactical; if other strong couples went through a difficult time or even a break-up, it would increase his and Liberty’s chances of winning.
‘As we saw with Millie [Court] following Liam [Reardon]’s Casa behaviour, on the whole, the girls this year have conducted themselves with dignity, prioritising their self-worth over the potential fame of being a winning couple and this rings true for Liberty as well. Despite being only 21 years old, she has been a shining role model for young girls watching the show.
‘As a result, whilst she might not win the show, she will come out of the experience with the backing of the public which will no doubt help her post-island opportunities for brand partnerships.’
As for the types of oppportunities coming her way, Stella thinks she’ll again stay true to herself.
‘In the recent episodes, Liberty has made a point of addressing her love of big heels and red lipstick saying to Jake that she won’t change for anyone so I think she will work with brands that will look to highlight these aspects,’ she explained.
‘This could come in the form of “traditional” clothing brands such as Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing and Missguided but also allows for the potential to branch out into the makeup sector which isn’t a typical partnership for ex-Islanders. I would 100% buy a Liberty Lipstick if it stayed on as well as hers does!’

‘Compared to this season’s Love Islanders, I think Liberty will be one of the top earners on account of the fact that she was one of the original islanders and has made it to the final week so she has had the air time needed to build a healthy following so no doubt she will eventually be making six figures,’ she continued.
‘However, I do think she will have competition as the biggest earner. After Millie’s skyrocket in popularity following Casa Amor and how she handled the Liam and Lillie [Haynes] situation, coupled with her precious interest and work in fashion, she could be one of the biggest earners from the series, landing the big brand partnerships similar to Molly Mae [Hague] from the summer 2019 series.’
Meanwhile, Liberty leaving early won’t affect how she goes down in the Love Island history books.
‘This year’s line-up has done great things for showing the maturity of the women when handling complicated emotional situations and the female friendships have been some of the best since the programme began in 2015,’ Stella pointed out.

‘Whilst she will no longer be a winner, Liberty has been left on good terms with her head held high which makes her attractive to brands looking to align with young women’s interests. No matter the final result, Liberty and Jake will always be remembered from the series so an early exit, especially as it was on her terms, won’t necessarily dampen any potential opportunities.’
Liberty has been widely praised for her emotional maturity and the way in which she’s handled situations in the villa.
Amid her split from Jake, she confided in Faye Winter and her best friend Kaz Kamwi, telling them that she’d found self-love and fans couldn’t be more here for it.
‘I was in love with Jake,’ she’s since told The Sun. ‘And, of course, I still love and care for Jake.
‘You don’t end things then just get over someone like that. But I think, in the long run, I made the right decision. You have to put your own feelings first and to make yourself happy. And that is what I have done.’
Love Island returns Sunday night at 9pm on ITV2.
