Love Island’s Priya revealed on Instagram how much ITV paid her to do the show (Picture: ITV)
Love Island’s Priya Gopaldas has revealed on her Instagram how much she was paid for her short stint on the reality show.
Of course, Love Island comes with a huge cash prize of £50,000 for the couple who can make it to the end and win over the public’s vote.
But the contestants are also paid by ITV for their appearance, despite their work consisting of going on a holiday, flirting with good looking people, sunbathing and taking part in silly challenges.
Priya, a medical student from London, initially flirted with Matthew MacNabb before dumping him for new bombshell Brett Staniland.
However, the two only lasted a few more days before they were voted off the show.
Priya has now revealed that even though she lasted only a week in the villa, she made £750.

Taking to her Instagram story, the star shared a screenshot of a bank statement showing the £750 entering her account in a payment from ITV.
Not shabby for a week-long vacation in Majorca.
She also shared another screenshot showing she donated the same amount to NHS Charities Together through Virgin Money Giving.
‘Love Island pay cheque put to use,’ she wrote.
While we don’t know how ITV decided how much to pay the islanders, if Priya’s rate for a week in the villa is any indication, we might be able to figure out how much the others were paid.

If they stayed a whole year in the villa, that is a healthy £36K salary.
Liam Reardon and Millie Court, of course, split their winnings and got £25,000 each. But since Liam entered on day four, his salary would be just shy of the other finalists’, while Millie, who entered on day nine, would have gotten probably a little over £5,000.

Of the eight finalists, Teddy Soares and Tyler Cruickshank are likely to be the ones who earned the least, since Teddy came into the villa on day 12 and Tyler didn’t show up until halfway through the show on day 23.
With similar estimates, we can speculate that Tyler probably brought home around £3,000 and Teddy is probably more around the £4,500-5,000 mark.
The Islanders who earned the least out of their stint on the show will have to be Shannon Singh, who entered on day one and got booted on in the first dumping on day two, and Chuggs Wallis, who lasted a whole two days but didn’t make it past the first week.
Hopefully, they at least got enough to buy themselves a celebratory dinner when they got home.
Love Island is available to watch on ITV Hub.
