Love Island 2021 star Toby Aromolaran has revealed the one time he got in trouble with the producers of the ITV reality show, admitting it was when he punched fellow contestant Tyler Cruickshank in the face off-air.
This year’s series of Love Island was eventful to say the list, with on-and-off couple Millie Court and Liam Reardon eventually being crowned the winners and going home with a joint cash prize of £50,000.
Toby finished as a runner-up with his girlfriend Chloe Burrows, with the pair still going strong weeks after leaving the villa.
On Friday evening, Toby took part in a Q&A on his Instagram Story, answering the questions of some of his 997,000 followers about his time on the show.
When asked if he ever found himself in hot water with the producers, Toby said that he was particularly well-behaved in comparison to the other islanders.
However, there was one instance when he did break the rules and received a telling off.
‘I was good in there, to be honest, compared to everyone else,’ he said while filming himself on his phone.
‘I only got in trouble one time, and that one time was when I punched Tyler round the face.’
Toby stressed that him punching Tyler in the face wasn’t on purpose, exclaiming that it was ‘by accident!’.
However, he then cryptically added: ‘Or was it by accident…’
The video was reshared by Tyler on his own Instagram Story, who wrote ‘bro’ on top of it, with a row of cry-laughing emojis.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Faye Winter, who reached the final of the show with her boyfriend Teddy Soares, revealed the major rule she broke while in the villa.
‘There was one particular time I definitely broke the rules. I was sleeping out on the daybed when Casa Amor happened,’ she said.
‘It was 5am and it was so hot. I woke up and jumped in the pool straight away.
‘One of the producers was like, Faye! How am I going to explain why you’re soaking wet at 5am in the morning?
‘So that was one thing I broke the rules on.’
