Love Island delayed over Euro 2020 final with England and Italy match expected to smash TV records

Love Island will be delayed this coming Sunday because, if you hadn’t heard, there’s pretty big game between England and Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

As Harry Kane managed to seal the England team a spot in their first final in a major tournament in over 50 years when they beat Denmark on Thursday night, Love Island will now be pushed back from its usual 9pm slot to the slightly later time of 10pm.

Then Laura Whitmore will be back on Love Island: Aftersun at the agonisingly late 11pm.

Coverage of the match will kick off at 7pm until 10.35pm at the earliest on BBC One and 6.30pm until 11.05pm.

While the match is expected to break viewing records with almost 26 million people tuning in to the semi-final on Thursday, it’s been confirmed the Love Island lot won’t be among those watching.

‘The Islanders haven’t been told that the team are in the final on Sunday – and won’t find out the result,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Of course, new Islanders who have been watching the tournament will go into the villa in the next few weeks, but they’re not supposed to tell the current islanders anything about the outside world – including who won Euro 2020.’

Thankfully there’s plenty of drama for them to watch inside the villa instead as Chloe Burrows managed to bag Tony Aromolaran despite him being quite firmly coupled up with Kaz Kamwi – or so we thought.

It’s the finest tea to be spilled all series and easily as thrilling as England winning their first cup since 1966, right?

RIGHT?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
