Former Love Island star Samie Elishi has provided an update following surgery to determine whether a tumour on her throat is malignant.
The reality star, 23, starred in the last season of the ITV dating show, when she dated Tom Clare, also 23.
However, the couple called it quits a month after leaving the villa.
After fans picked out a lump on Samie’s thyroid, she disclosed she was facing a cancer scare.
She was informed she needed surgery after a biopsy, which she had this week.
First confirming that she’d undergone the procedure, Samie shared on social media that she’d been told she was ‘very lucky’ and that the surgery had gone well and she felt ‘absolutely fine’.

She promised to keep followers updated on her progress and thanked them for their support, asking them to have any lumps examined.
‘I’m now on rest duty but will be vlogging the recovery. Everyday I receive so many supportive messages from you guys, forever grateful,’ she posted on Instagram.
‘Me raising awareness has lead to some of you having this surgery and getting lumps on your neck checked, getting these messages means so much.
‘If I can help one person, that’s enough.’

She followed up with another article in which she explained how she was about to be discharged.
Of the picture of her, she jokingly added: ‘This is me in recovery a bit out of it.’
‘Home time today. I’m in minimal pain at the moment it just feels a little bruised and tender,’ she wrote.
‘I’m constantly clearing my throat but that’s normal as I’ve read so many of your lovely messages about your experiences.
‘A few messages of people saying they’re scared of having it done which I completely understand but I just want to say you have nothing to worry about!’

She then described how the operation was’simple’ and volunteered to answer any concerns anyone might have, although she did note she was ‘nowhere near an expert’ and could just impart information on the recuperation side of things.
Samie had to postpone the procedure earlier this month due to tonsillitis after being unwell on a cruise and being taken to the hospital upon her return.
Demi Jones, another former Islander, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2021, prompting the cancer worry.
Demi declared earlier this year that she was cancer-free and no longer required monthly check-ups after having surgeries and chemotherapy.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
