After Montel McKenzie apologised to Leah Taylor in front of the rest of the island, Love Island viewers are eager to see the end of public apology letters.
In scenes that aired Monday night, the 25-year-old semi-professional footballer enlisted the help of his friends to create the huge gesture in the aftermath of Movie Night, which revealed his affair with Tink Reading.
Leah was persuaded to go and sit on the deck by Sammy Root while the other islanders gathered outside.
Montel then took a seat on the terrace and read a message he had written on his phone apologising for his attitude.
While the grand gesture was favourably received by Leah, who forgave him, fans at home aired their displeasure on social media.
‘Not the phone letter apology again WHY DO WE NEED TO DO THIS EVERY YEAR,’ blasted one.
‘Is it a tradition to be doing these apology letters on Love Island every year?’ another demanded. ‘I need to start sleeping through these.’
A third slammed: ‘Every year I’m forced to sit thru one of these STUPID apology letters.’
Is today apology day??? Get out of hereeeee #loveisland

In February, Love Island viewers witnessed a similar apology when farmer Will Young asked the other candidates to assist him in saying sorry to Jessie Wynter following Casa Amor.
Throughout the programme, he provided each islander a sentence to tell Jessie in order for him to express his sentiments.
Bringing her onto the terrace, Will said at the time: ‘Jessie, I think we’ve done a lot of talking and I just want to show you how I feel.’
The fellow islanders then recounted Will’s gushy lines, including ‘I love how safe and secure you make me feel’ and ‘I love how kind and pure you are’.
Love Island continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2.
