Sharon Gaffka has revealed Love Island fans followed her home in a quest for a selfie, which has left her terrified to head out in public.

The star, who was booted off the show after coupling up with Hugo Hammond and Aaron Francis in the villa, said the incident has left her shaken.

Speaking on Access All Areas this week, the explained the fans followed her home before sliding into her DMs asking for a photo and that she ‘hadn’t been scared’ until that interaction.

Sharon said: ‘There was a group of girls I’d walked past that were coming out of the train station.

‘They partially followed me home and messaged me on Instagram saying they were in a field near my house, being like, “where are you? We’re looking for you!” because they wanted to get a photo.’

The reality star said they were ‘too close’ to her house ‘for comfort’.

‘Luckily they can’t find me,’ she went on, ‘That’s a bit weird.’

But it’s not just Sharon’s own safety she’s worried about, as she added: ‘My younger brother looks quite similar to me as well…I worry about him walking around as well just as much as me.’

She said she’d sent her brother a heads up, explaining ‘be careful coming over to my house today because there’s very excitable teenagers outside somewhere!’

Sharon was also asked to share her thoughts on Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole – known as Jiberty – who shocked viewers by splitting and, reportedly, quitting Love Island just days before Monday’s final.

On the couple, the star insisted ‘what you see on the camera is very different from what I’d seen of them together in person.’

During heartbreaking scenes in last night’s episode, Liberty split with Jake, blaming their differences for the break-up.

Fans feared the pair may have reconciled but according to sources, they’ve already fled the villa.

‘It was a really tough decision for the couple to make, but it felt like the right thing to do,’ an insider told Mail Online.

‘They’d given it their all on camera and wanted to let their friends in other couples have a chance at winning.

‘Saying goodbye was emotional for all the islanders, as they’ve become so close, like family, but it won’t be long before they’re all reunited.

‘It’s not 100% over for Jake and Liberty, there are still a lot of feelings involved, so who knows what will happen on the future.’

Love Island returns 9pm tonight on ITV2.
