The series is back for the second part of season five on May 28, with eight new episodes arriving this week – and a sixth instalment of the show to follow in future.
It’s been a little while since the first half of season five first landed on Netflix, with the episodes coming back in August.

Season five picked up after Lucifer (Tom Ellis) set off from LA for Hell, leaving Chloe (Lauren German), Dan (Kevin Alejandro) and Ella (Aimee Garcia) all behind.
The first episode saw someone who looked exactly like Lucifer step in to save Chloe after she was attacked during a murder investigation – only it’s later revealed that it was in fact Lucifer’s twin, Michael, who was promptly swapped back for the real Lucifer who’d been in Hell the whole time.
After he’s admonished by Amenadiel, it was also revealed that Michael has been manipulating Lucifer the entire time – and he came to have an even greater hold on his life on earth as the series progressed.
As the detectives in LA attempt to discover the serial killer behind a series of gruesome murders, Lucifer was later sent into a frenzy as Chloe is kidnapped during the investigation.
After Luther fails to get Amenadiel to help him find her as he suffers a loss of his powers, there was an unexpected result when Elle’s boyfriend Pete was discovered to be the person behind the killings.
As the first half of the series hurtled towards its conclusion, Dan shot Lucifer in a tense standoff and revealed that he did it under Michael’s supervision. Thankfully, Lucifer is invulnerable and wasn’t affected by the bullet.
It was then revealed that Michael had been keeping Chloe hostage in his cave. When Maz arrived and tried to attack Michael for his action, he convinced her to turn on Lucifer and fight with him after promising her a soul.
Lucifer and Dan got there too and successfully managed to free Chloe. However, Michael then challenged Lucifer to a duel.
Then, in one of the biggest cliffhangers of the series, God himself (played by Dennis Haysbert) arrived down in the cave to break up the fight in the nick of time.
How will things pan out? Fans will find out in the new episodes.

Details about the second part of series five have yet to be released, but viewers can be assured that things are about to get emotional.
Star D.B. Woodside recently teased some heartbreaking stuff is on the horizon, with the Amenadiel actor saying viewers should ‘keep the faith’ for season six despite the devastating moment that is on the way.
He told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I’d also say there’s going to be something shocking that happens towards the end of 5B that is going to break everyone’s heart.
‘But I would just tell people that, “Hey, we have a season 6. So even though your heart is going to be absolutely smashed at the end of season 5B, keep the faith.”’
