Warning: spoilers ahead for season 6 of Lucifer.
The Lord of Hell has returned once more, as season 6 of Lucifer is released on Netflix with its final 10 episodes.
The final season of the hit urban fantasy follows Lucifer Morningstar following the revelation that he is God’s successor, exploring whether he’s able to cope with the enormous responsibility.
Several fan-favourite characters have returned for the show’s final outing, including Lauren German as Chloe Decker, DB Woodside as Amenadiel and Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze.
Going into the final season, many fans may still have questions about Lucifer’s abilities and his vulnerabilities – plus whether or not he’s going to make it out alive.
Is Lucifer dead?
In the season five finale of Lucifer, it appeared that the fallen angel may have finally met his demise.
After engaging in a fight to the death with his twin brother Michael, Lucifer was devastated when Chloe was killed in the midst of their duel.
Lucifer decides to seek her out in heaven, even though he knows doing so will almost definitely spell his own doom.
As Lucifer manages to send Chloe back to Earth, he seemingly bursts into flames in a gruesome death – but it’s later revealed that he actually survived, becoming God’s successor.
By the end of season six, Amenadiel is the one who has filled God’s shoes, with Lucifer instead returning to Hell to fulfil his purpose of helping lost souls move over to Heaven.
While Lucifer has survived, by the end of the season, Chloe has died.
However, she and Lucifer reunite in the final scene of the show, as she knocks on the door to his office and tells him: ‘I thought you could use a partner.’
Can he lose his immortality?
Lucifer is an immortal being, having fallen from Heaven as an angel and becoming the Lord of Hell.
However, he does have a weakness – Chloe.
When Lucifer is around Chloe, he immediately becomes vulnerable, meaning that if he is injured, he could end up dying just like any other human.
Can he lose his powers?
While being around Chloe means that Lucifer’s immortality is impacted, the same is not said for his powers.
When Lucifer is close to Chloe, he is still able to exhibit his supernatural abilities, including enhanced strength and his ability to heal at an exceedingly fast rate.
In season four, Lucifer temporarily lost control of his devil face, meaning that he couldn’t control when his true identity was shown.
Lucifer is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
