Ollie Locke and fiance Gareth Locke appeared on Made In Chelsea to reveal their devastation at their dream wedding venue refusing to marry them because they are gay.

The 31-year-old reality show veteran appeared on the show to catch up with pal Sophie Hermann, and revealed that, while the LGBT community had been fighting for gay marriage, there were still places that refused to acknowledge them as a couple.

As Sophie quizzed the pair on their upcoming nuptials, the conversation took a sombre turn when she asked about wedding venues.

‘We had this idea of getting married like it’s beautiful church, and we found this beautiful church and like going through the process of actually having a wedding there how are we going to do it and then we found out that basically we can’t actually get married there,’ Gareth told her.

‘They don’t do gay marriages,’ Ollie then added when Sophie asked why. ‘Obviously I must admit that was the most upset I’d been for a long time because it kind of, we’ve obviously fought for so many years for all of this, and we’re so delighted that it’s now a legal situation that we are allowed to get married and we wanted to celebrate that.

‘For someone to literally turn around and say, “you can’t I’m afraid, we’ll give you a blessing”.’

The pair then added that they were also restricted on their honeymoon destinations because, again, there were certain countries that opposed homosexuality and they would be in danger there.

The news devastated fans, who shared their support of the couple as they tried to find the perfect place to tie the knot.

One fuming viewer wrote: ‘whattt this is so so wrong we are all one why are people in this day and age not recognising this. I am truly sorry for you both xx’

‘Poor Ollie & Gareth – wherever you decide to do it, it will be special and memorable and all about you two and no one else,’ one said.

A third also aired their support and told them: ‘The fact Ollie and Gareth can’t go and get married where they want or have their honeymoon where they want in 2020 is heartbreaking, needs to change ASAP.’

And a former priest also chimed in and said: ‘So @ollielocke this is why as a gay Christian as I could not serve as a priest in the @churchofengland as I love God and I believe in gay marriage.’

Made In Chelsea airs Mondays at 9pm on E4.
