Mark Wright shares important message to fans after Towie co-star Mick Norcross dies aged 57

Mark Wright urged viewers to check in on each other after his former The Only Way Is Essex co-star Mick Norcross was found dead yesterday.

The 57-year-old’s body was discovered at his home in Brentwood, Essex.

Tributes have been pouring in for the reality star and owner of notorious nightclub, Sugar Hut, while Mark shared his condolences to pal Kirk Norcross, Mick’s son.

Appearing on Lorraine today, Mark – who recently signed to Crawley F.C. – said: Yeah, I knew Mick quite well. I wasn’t very close to him so I don’t want to spend too long talking about it.

‘I just want to send my condolences and my love to the family and Kirk. Obviosuly, he must just be broken hearted.

‘But what I did know of Mick, he was such a gentlemen, such a nice guy, he was always so welcoming at his club and it’s just so sad.

‘If you know anyone today the message is just talk, just ask them if they’re ok. If you’re feeling down, talk to a freind, talk to a family member because we hear this too much, too often.

‘It’s these kinds of things and these situations which hit me most,’ Mark continued. ‘They hit hardest, when you think maybe someone could have spoken to him.’

Yesterday, Essex Police told Metro.co.uk: ‘We were called to an address in Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday 21 January.

‘Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’

News of Mick’s death first began circling on social media, with Towie star Mario Falcone – who was also Mick’s manager – sharing a final tweet Mick had posted to Twitter and told fans he was ‘shocked and heartbroken’.

Mick was best known for being the owner of famous Essex night club The Sugar Hut, which regularly featured on the programme as a shooting location.

He featured on 53 episodes of Towie between 2011 and 2013, appearing on the show from season two up until season eight and became well-known for his romances with cast mates Gemma Collins and Chloe Simms.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
