People across the UK have found themselves glued to Married At First Sight Australia as of late… including singing sensation Sam Smith.
Despite its initial launch in 2019, the sixth series of Married At First Sight Australia is currently airing on E4, drawing its audience in with the promise of tears, drama and shocks galore.
The premise is one that many understandably find irresistible – a group of couples are matchmade with their future spouse by a panel of experts, meeting their partner for the first time on their wedding day. What could possibly go wrong?
Hours after the latest episode of the reality TV show aired on Thursday evening, Sam revealed to their 8.1m followers that they are a massive fan of the programme.
‘Married at first sight Australia is incredible television,’ they tweeted. Couldn’t have put it better ourselves, Sam.
Several fellow Married At First Sight aficionados responded with excitement to the musician’s statement, with one person from Australia saying: ‘thank u for recognising the amazing things our country produces.’
‘It’s my fav tv at the moment,’ another person commented, while someone else said: ‘Train wreck tv, you can’t look away.’
One of the stars of the show, Nicolas Jovanovic, responded to Sam’s tweet, writing: ‘So good Sam!! Thanks for the love!!’
Just a couple of days ago, viewers watched as Susie’s dad told her new husband Billy that she has a three-year-old daughter, before she’d had a chance to tell her betrothed herself.
Another cast member from the sixth season, Ines, almost missed out on filming the show’s all-star reunion special when her flight was cancelled.
Last year, Sam opened up about their desire to have children in the future, admitting that they either want to have two children or none at all.
Speaking to Amazon Music, the Too Good At Goodbyes singer said: ‘I’d like two kids, if I want any. I like giving them back when you look after them…They’re wonderful but it is nice to be like “bye.”’
Sam also expressed a wish to ‘open up a gay bar in the city near where I grew up in Cambridge, as there are no gay bars’.
Married At First Sight Australia returns next Thursday at 7.30pm on E4.
