Married At First Sight Australia: X-rated speech leaves bride’s furious father wanting to ‘punch groom in the head’

Married At First Sight Australia got off to a rocky start when a best man’s speech left the father-of-the-bride wanting to punch his new son-in-law in the head.

Season six of the reality series launched on E4 this week in the UK, having previously aired in Australia back in 2019.

Jessika Power and Mick Gould said their ‘I Dos’ before their skeptical families as they headed off on the experiment in the episode, but immediately things went awry thanks to best man Broxy.

The bold and brash best mate of the groom almost derailed the entire marriage in minutes when he asked the newlyweds if they’d ‘had a session’ yet at the wedding reception.

In his speech, he launched into a lads’ night out tale which involved Mick taking viagra on a night out.

While most of the story was edited out, the looks on the face Jessica’s father Troy and brother Rhyce spoke a thousand words.

‘I thought that was disgusting, I don’t want to think about you having sex with my sister,’ Rhyce then seethed to the cameras.

‘Obviously I am very protective and from what I’ve seen from his best man, I really don’t think too highly of [Mick] at the moment.’

Troy also looked like he was ready to knock someone out, telling a fellow partygoer: ‘There’s places for that sort of talk – with a group of boys, not with young ladies around.’

‘I’m a professional boxer,’ he added. ‘That was my job. To fly around Australia and punch people in the head.’

Somehow, Broxy seemed completely oblivious to the chaos that he’d caused among the wedding party, bragging about how well he’d done as he sat back down at the table.

Mick then had to break to him: ‘I don’t think your speech went down too well, mate. It went terribly.’

Seems like Mick has a lot of making up to do if this marriage is to work in the upcoming weeks.

Married at First Sight continues tonight at 7.30pm on E4.
