Nikita Jasmine of Married At First Sight has said that she was rushed to the emergency hospital after being ‘unable to breathe’.
The reality TV actress, who was removed from the series where’strangers marry each other’ for ‘inappropriate conduct,’ informed her fans she had been suffering from laryngitis and strep throat.
It was a horrific experience that not only disrupted her New Year’s Eve plans, but also made her question the depth of some of her connections as some individuals didn’t’reach out’ to check on her.
‘Hello, people!’ she opened on Instagram, before revealing that she had taken a two-week break from all of her social media profiles in order to focus on getting better after the ordeal.
‘Been stuck on what to say as I didn’t have a very good start to the year unfortunately,’ she carried on, before revealing she started to ‘feel poorly’ on New Years Eve.
‘[It] started off as a cold and then led onto Strep A and laryngitis, so could barely swallow or breathe which wasn’t great. On antibiotics for two bloody weeks, trips to A&E, but now I’m back!’
Strep A, officially named Group A Streptococcus, are ‘bacteria commonly found on the skin or in the throat’ that ‘under some circumstances’ can lead to infections and illness – main symptoms include a high temperature and sore throat.
She continued, admitting she took a social media break because it was hard to look at the outside world while she was too ill to experience it: ‘Got anxiety on what to post as I haven’t been myself at all.
‘I kept looking at others so happy and ready to smash 2024 when my head wasn’t in a good place and immune system had been terrible to boot.
‘Didn’t want to put a brave face on and post everyday, pretending I was okay, acting like my jolly self, etc. hence why I had a small socials detox, which, honestly, does do you the world of good and I’d recommend it to anyone!’
Thankfully, following a round of antibiotics, Nikita has assured followers she is on the mend and hopes to return to a more active lifestyle soon.
However, the incident has left the Celebs Go Dating star wondering who her true friends are, as just a few individuals contacted her during her current health problem.
‘Thank you to those that reached out to me, noticing I was quiet. Randoms and friends that were checking in on me constantly, I appreciate every single one of you,’ she said, adding two love heart emojis onto her message.
Nikita was removed from Married At First Sight after an off-camera incident that violated Channel 4’s code of conduct, however he did make full appearances on Celebs Go Dating in 2021.
On the show, she participated with Ulrika Johnson and Apprentice star Ryan-Mark Parsons, who scored the lowest score of the whole series.
