Married at First Sight UK is about to fill the Love Island shaped hole in your lives next week as more couples tie the knot completely unaware of who they’re actually committing a lifetime to.

The Channel 4 reality show kicks off with the biggest day of their lives as eight couples say their vows, and throw a big bash with all their friends and family without having a clue what their wedding or partner will be like.

However, the seven women and nine men taking part this year, in the series featuring the first ever gay couple to take part in Married At First Sight, do get to have one request about their big day.

Speaking ahead of her wedding to.. well… who knows… Alexis, a 28-year-old model from London revealed, she knows only one certainty about the day.

‘I don’t even know what time I need to be ready for,’ she said. ‘The only things we’ve done for ourselves is chosen colour schemes, but they are intwined with what my partner chooses too.

‘It makes me feel really nervous, but in a good way. Imagine if we both chose the same colour schemes or the same cake – it would be lovely to have little things like that.’

Not knowing anything about your wedding is one thing but having absolutely no information about your groom is another.

‘I think this is what I’m most nervous about,’ Alexis admitted, understandably. ‘Even though I don’t have a major type, I still want him to be cute, I want to be attracted to him.

‘I don’t want him to think I’m a bit much. Even though I’m quite chilled, I have an upbeat bubbly side to me.’

While Alexis had no idea what lies ahead of her, she does trust the experts have found ‘at least glimpses of what I am looking for’.

‘I don’t believe you can get every single piece that you need,’ she said. ‘Because I am an open-minded person, if I see the great qualities over power the little things then I can roll with it and give people a chance.

‘Some people take a little longer to open and warm up than others and need some encouragement.’

Married at First Sight UK returns Monday at 9pm on E4.
