Married At First Sight UK bid farewell to two couples in dramatic scenes that aired tonight, with Nikita Jasmine and Ant Poole quitting the series along with Jordon Mundell and Alexis Economou.
Nikita’s departure came after producers kicked her off the E4 show for ‘unacceptable’ behaviour following a situation that ‘escalated off camera’, with the reality star exploding at Jordon Mundell at the reunion dinner.
Ant, by default, had to also leave the process after his partner had to leave the programme.
Meanwhile, Jordon and Alexis also chose to leave the experiment after their relationship collapsed following their wedding day.
In the latest episodes, the couples reunited with experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas for the first commitment ceremony of the series.
Nikita has since apologised for her behaviour, saying to The Sun: ‘I loved every minute of the experience but it was a rollercoaster of emotions, and sometimes they got the better of me.
‘But that’s me as a person and I am truly sorry for any upset I caused during my time in the experiment.
It came after Megan and Jordon had shown an interest in each other, culminating in a showdown, with Megan saying: ‘The first thing I want to do, is apologise to Bob with all my heart.’
Paul told Jordon and Alexis they too would be leaving the process, with many of the cast in tears after the dramatic set of events.
At the end of tonight’s episode, matchmaker Paul C. Brunson said: ‘It’s honestly been – I think we can all agree – an emotional rollercoaster of a day and one thing we all have to acknowledge, is we all make mistakes.
‘What we’re going to do, is we’re going to sleep on it because we know tomorrow is a new day.’
Bob said of Megan: ‘My feelings towards Megan right now… I can’t even put them into words, just going to have to take each day as it comes now.’
Nikita’s removal from Married At First Sight UK due to ‘unacceptable’ behaviour was announced on Wednesday.
A statement read: ‘The wellbeing of cast and crew is our utmost priority at all times throughout production and beyond.
‘During filming, a situation escalated off camera and Nikita displayed a level of aggression that was unacceptable and breached our agreed code of conduct on behaviour.
‘As a result, she was asked to leave the experiment. All involved have been offered support and Nikita has since apologised and resolved the situation with those involved.’
Next week, the remaining Married At First Sight UK couples will take part in ‘yes week’, which aims to test their relationships.
Married At First Sight continues on Monday at 9pm on E4.
