Married At First Sight UK: Nikita Jasmine sent death threats over ‘edited wedding’ as she calls out trolls

Married At First Sight UK has only been on for a total of two episodes but it has given us a much-needed dose of drama we’ve been missing on the small screen for a while.

However, Nikita Jasmine, whose explosive wedding to Ant Poole was shown in the very first episode of the E4 series, suggested that there has been a lot of editing from her big day.

The star was seen looking unimpressed with the groom that the experts picked out for her, and at one point told the camera: ‘They’ve f**king just done the total opposite of what I asked for.’

Taking to Instagram after the episode aired, the 27-year-old insisted that all wasn’t as it seemed, and called out those who had sent her vile messages over the scenes.

Nikita began the clip by thanking those who had reached out with positive comments, explaining how much she ‘appreciates’ everyone who had taken the time to message her.

Turning her attention to the trolls, she began: ‘I don’t read any negative comments but bits and pieces of what the Karens have got to say…

Nikita urged viewers to remember that MAFS UK is a TV show (Picture: Instagram)

‘It’s funny because obviously the marriages aren’t real. It’s classed as a social experiment and I think people forget that it is TV, so regardless of what you’re in it for, it’s still a TV show. Everybody knows what it involves, it’s cropped and edited for your entertainment.

‘If every single wedding went plain sailing and it was fine and dandy, there was no agg, it would be boring as a viewer to watch. Nobody would want to see that.’

Speaking of the vile trolls, she continued: ‘In a nutshell, it’s not that deep. So obviously when I’m getting messages giving us death threats, people saying they’re glad my ex-partner left us, things like I don’t deserve a cat, I’m a disgrace, I’m humiliating…

‘Like I said, I don’t read stuff I just got sent a couple of messages by friends, and I told them I don’t want to know any more.

‘If you’re clearly that sad and pathetic to sit behind a keyboard and slate a girl that you don’t even know, and you’ve literally just seen on an hour-and-a-half episode, what a f**king boring, sad life you must have because I couldn’t think of anything worse.’

Nikita doubled down on this in the caption of a grid post, as she was seen embracing Ant on their big day.

‘I hope you all enjoyed the first ep tonight with my mental one liners LOL and laughed til your belly hurt,’ she penned. ‘I can’t stress this enough that @e4mafsuk is a reality show and it is edited completely for YOUR ENTERTAINMENT!

‘Myself and Ant hand on heart had a great day filming our wedding as did our friends and family that got on like a house on fire. They have to dramatise things to make it look extra & juicy so you are at the end of your seat eager to see more!

‘Unfortunately they didn’t show much of our good bits but anyone at the ceremony can vouch it wasn’t as harsh as it looked! I’ve always been an honest person & true to myself [sic].’

A teaser for tonight’s episode showed tempers beginning to flare between Nikita and Ant as they jetted off on their honeymoon together – but will they be able to overcome the drama?

Married At First Sight UK continues on weeknights, at 9pm, on E4.
