A Married At First Sight UK mum is horrified to learn that her daughter has signed up to wed a total stranger in scenes due to air tonight.
In an exclusive clip ahead of Monday’s episode, estate agent Tayah breaks the news to her parent that she’s one of 16 singletons putting their faith in the match-making experts and is set to meet her future partner at the altar.
‘I do have something to tell you,’ she says, before revealing: ‘They’ve found a match for me, so I’ll be marrying a stranger.’
‘Really?’ Tayah’s mum replies, shocked. ‘That’s quite scary.’
‘What do you think about it?’ Tayah probes.
‘What, you marrying a perfect stranger?’ her mum hits back, adding: ‘That wasn’t what I was hoping or expecting.’
Tayah’s mum doesn’t hold back her thoughts when she speaks directly to the camera either.
‘To be perfectly honest, I’m horrified,’ she continues. ‘For us, it’s just not who we are, I suppose.
‘it’s quite challenging.’
She goes on to express that the family would be concerned about the impact the experiment might have on her daughter if she doesn’t get her happily-ever-after.
‘It’s a bit of a drastic way going about getting a partner,’ she adds. ‘It’s obviously strange. I think it’s weird.’
Will Tayah’s mum come around in time for the wedding?
So far, six of the eight couples have been revealed, with two more set to be unveiled tonight.
Last week, groom Josh rejected a kiss with his new wife Amy after getting cold feet on their wedding day.
Elsewhere, poor Luke was left in tears on his honeymoon when his new wife Morag told him he was ‘not manly enough’.
Married At First Sight UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
