Fans of Mean Girls were astounded when one of the film’s original actresses made an unexpected and amazing appearance.
On Saturday night, Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi presented the newest installment of Saturday Night Live, which included musical guests Renée Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion.
The duo performed the song Not My Fault from the upcoming Mean Girls musical film, in which Renée appears as Regina George, a character she previously played on Broadway.
Viewers were in for a very special surprise before the performance, as none other than the original Mean Girls star, Rachel McAdams, who played the queen bee in the 2004 film, appeared.
Fans were taken aback by the unexpected reunion of the two Reginas, especially because Rachel did not appear in recent Walmart advertisements alongside her old Mean Girls co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert.
When Rachel, 45, came to introduce Renée, 24, and Megan, 28, for their musical act, the studio crowd yelled with delight at the surprise.
After beaming from ear to ear and bowing with gratitude, she announced: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, once again, Renée Rapp!’
People commenting on YouTube were ecstatic, with one called Andy writing: ‘THIS WAS SUCH A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT!!! When I saw Rachel, I was screaming!!!! This is so iconic!!! Regina introducing Regina!!! I am so here for this!!!’
Daniel also added: ‘This was so fun to watch had me smiling the whole time!!! I’m in love with all the love for the new mean girls! Rachel, Renée, and Megan killed it!’
However, that wasn’t the only memorable event of the night; at the close of the programme, when Euphoria’s Jacob, 26, was saying goodbye to their fans, Rachel and Renée could be seen blowing kisses to each other behind his back.

‘Rachel McAdams and Reneé Rapp together is so fetch!’ X user Nicona wrote after watching the heartwarming interaction.
‘Thank you SNL for bringing Reneé Rapp and Rachel McAdams together,’ Zoe added.
A fan called Rachel also remarked: ‘Rachel, Renée AND MEG? Oh it was a mother convention.’
To make things even more special, Renée, Megan, and Rachel reproduced a famous Spider-Man posture on set, pointing at each other like three Reginas, in reference to the rapper’s involvement in the Not My Fault song video.
It’s all just… so fetch.
Saturday Night Live airs on NBC in the US.
