Megan Thee Stallion has once again hit back at the backlash for WAP, her collaboration with Cardi B’s explicit sexual lyrics.
The pair teamed up for the steamy track – which stands for ‘Wet A** P**sy’ earlier in the year, and while the track became one of the biggest songs of the year, it attracted a lot of criticism for the lyrics.
Addressing why there’s a double standard around men and women talking about sex in their music, Megan appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday night.
She told Jonathan: ‘All the male rappers I know love WAP. I feel like, for a long time, men felt like they owned sex.
‘So sometimes when women speak about sex, I feel like it makes other people uncomfortable because it’s like “How dare you talk about your own vagina? You’re not supposed to be talking about a vagina.”
‘But, I mean it’s frickin’ 2020, why am I not allowed to talk about my body? It’s my goddamn body.
‘You talk about what you wanna do to me all day, let me tell you what I’m gonna do to you!’
Megan was met by nods of approval from the guests on the show, including Loose Women panellist Judi Love, who says she is obsessed with the song but has to cover her 11-year-old son’s eyes when the music video comes on.
During the rest of the show, Megan also showed the panel how to do the viral dance to her new song Body, and comedian Mickey Flanagan even gave it a go himself.
Megan also revealed that despite her soaring musical success she is still studying for a degree in Healthcare Administration online, after she was no longer able to visit the campus.
