Miranda Hart not ruling out comedy return after 6 years off screens

Miranda Hart will reportedly return to her beloved self-titled sitcom after a long break from the screen.

The popular programme followed the comedian always gets into awkward situations; working in her joke shop with best friend Stevie, being hounded by her pushy mother, and around her crush Gary.

was an instant success after it first aired in 2009 on BBC2 before moving to BBC1 in 2012 for three years.

The Lucifer actor played Miranda Hart’s love interest in the sitcom, which originally aired on BBC Two in 2009 and later moved to BBC One where it ran for three series and two specials.

The show made a brief comeback last January for a 10th anniversary special and Tom would absolutely love to step into the role again should the opportunity ever arise.

Speaking on The Gaby Roslin Podcast, she said: ‘I think when you create characters like that, that you’ve lived with for a long time, they do become part of you.

I do think of them from time to time, a bit like you would a friend that you haven’t seen for a while, ‘Oh, what would they be up to…’

‘The circumstances haven’t quite aligned. But it is something that I would say that I’m now not ruling out.
