Warning: spoilers ahead for Money Heist season 5 part 1.
Money Heist fans have been left reeling by the events that unfolded in season 5 part 1 when the release date arrived on Netflix, with the final episode spelling the death of a pivotal character.
The five episodes, which were dropped in one go on Friday, revealed what happened after police inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) – who is on the run – found out where the Professor (Álvaro Morte) was hiding.
The members of the gang carrying out the heist, including Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó), Lisbon (Itziar Ituño) and Stockholm (Esther Acebo) were forced to temporarily go without the Professor’s help while Sierra pointed a gun at his head.
However, after the Professor helped to deliver Sierra’s baby, could she end up joining in on the heist when season five part two comes out in December?
Could Alicia Sierra join the heist in part 2?
When Sierra discovered the Professor in his lair, it seemed as though there was nothing that could convince her not to turn him and the rest of the group into the police.
Sierra proved that she wasn’t giving empty threats when, after pointing a gun at the Professor’s head, she shot him in the foot, leaving him in excruciating pain.
However, everything changed when Sierra’s water broke and she went into labour.
The police inspector was initially adamant that she would deliver the baby herself while The Professor, Benjamín (Ramón Agirre) and Marseille (Luka Peroš) stayed tied up.
However, after the Professor informed Sierra that her baby was breech, making her delivery far more complicated, Sierra allowed the trio to become untied and the Professor successfully delivered her baby, who she named Victoria.
After her daughter’s birth, Sierra watched as the Professor put his headpiece back on to communicate with the team in the Bank of Spain, guiding them as they fought against the army.
When the Professor was urging Tokyo to escape the advancing military forces, having been shot multiple times in her arms and legs, Sierra placed a hand on the Professor’s arm, seemingly trying to comfort him.
However, he pushed her hand away as he urged Tokyo to try to escape, to no avail.
Could Sierra’s insight into the goings-on of the heist, and the fact that the Professor delivered her baby, mean that she could swap sides when part two comes out?
Plus, considering the other members of the police have thrown her under the bus, she might want to seek revenge by joining in the heist mission.
What is Sierra hiding up her sleeve?
While some fans may think that Sierra will switch her allegiance when part two comes out, something’s telling us that she might not be as easily swayed as Raquel was before her.
Moreover, it may seem a bit predictable for two police inspectors in a row to go from being the gang’s enemy to an accomplice.
After Sierra gives birth in the Professor’s hideout, she goes to the bathroom, where she takes out a pair of pliers.
It’s not yet been revealed what she’s planning to do with the pliers, as she may end up using them as a weapon against the Professor, Benjamín and Marseille once she has regained her strength.
As always, Money Heist is remaining unpredictable, right up until the very end.
