The release date for Money Heist season 5 is beckoning on Netflix, with the first few episodes being made available to watch very soon.
Ahead of the launch of season 5 volume 1 of La Casa de Papel, a 15-minute clip has been released of the first episode, showing the moment The Professor (Álvaro Morte) is discovered in his hideout by disgraced police inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).
The first look at the new series also shows what’s going on in the Bank of Spain after the successful rescue of Lisbon (Itziar Ituño), with Raquel’s arrival shaking things up both inside and out of the bank.
While the opening of the season premiere provides fans with some vital information about how the show is set to continue in season five, it also raises plenty of questions that viewers will need answering.
If you would rather not discover what happens in the first 15 minutes of the series, look away now because there are *spoilers ahead*.

Will Arturo end up jeopardising the heist?
In season four of Money Heist, new gang member Manila (Belén Cuesta) shoots Arturo Roman (Enrique Arce) when he attempts to stage an escape, having been posing as a hostage herself.
Shooting Arturo means that she’s blown her cover, an act that Stockholm (Esther Acebo) is extremely angry about.
Stockholm, whose real name is Mónica Gaztambide and was a hostage during the heist at the Royal Mint of Spain, insists that Arturo – who was previously her boss and her lover – is not a threat, as she says he would be ‘useless’ with any sort of weapon, even one as dangerous as a bazooka.
However, this statement could be perceived as foreboding, as Money Heist fans know how much Arturo loves to try and take control.
Will Berlin’s son become involved in the heist?
The first episode of Money Heist season five introduces a new character – Berlin’s son.
Berlin (Pedro Alonso), who died during the first heist and is The Professor’s brother, takes his son out for a meal, where he introduces him to his new wife.
While Berlin is no longer around in the present day, the heist at the Bank of Spain – as viewers have discovered in flashback scenes – was his idea.
Therefore, could there be a possibility that his son, and The Professor’s nephew, could become entangled in the scheme somehow?
Will The Professor survive being tortured by Alicia Sierra?
Sierra is one person you don’t want to cross.
Not only is the police inspector the person who was in charge of torturing Rio (Miguel Herrán) following his capture, but she now has The Professor in her grasp.
The end of season four saw Sierra corner The Professor in his hideout, pointing a gun at his head.
In the new clip, Sierra tells The Professor that she plans on extracting information from him on the aim of the heist, before proving that she’s true to her word by shooting him in the foot.
If Sierra is going to begin her interrogation by shooting The Professor, there is a high likelihood that he may not make it out alive.
While he has proven himself as a master of getting out of perilous situations, is this scenario impossible even for the mastermind of the heist to escape?
Money Heist season 5 volume 1 is due to launch on Netflix on Friday September 3.
