Moneyball is a brand new ITV gameshow that is sure to leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

The programme will see contestants test their knowledge for the chance to win a huge amount of money, facing the possibility of losing everything they’ve earned at the final hurdle.

Starring Ian Wright, hopefuls who take part in the series could be in with a chance of winning a whopping quarter of a million pounds if they play their cards right.

As the series commences, will audiences witness players go home with the big bucks? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Who is hosting Moneyball?

Moneyball is being hosted by Ian Wright, who’s previously presented shows including Top of the Pops, Friday Night’s All Wright and I’d Do Anything.

When Moneyball was first announced, Ian said that as soon as ITV contacted him to share the concept for the programme, he was immediately on board.

‘From the moment ITV got in touch with the idea, I was hooked and there was no way I could’ve said no to Moneyball,’ he said.

‘It’s exhilarating, fun, dramatic, everything you want from a game show. Even though I know I’ll want everyone to win the money and even though I know I’ll be in bits when they lose, I can’t wait for everyone at home to experience the real drama of Moneyball.’

How does the new ITV game show work?

As with all gripping game shows, Moneyball is high risk, as the possibility for contestants to go home with an incredible amount of money lies on the roll of a ball.

The show will see the contestants set the task of answering a series of questions.

If they answer a question right, they earn a ball which they roll onto The Launcher, a large machine which rolls the ball onto a track shaped like a U.

The ball could land on a certain amount of cash – meaning that they’ve secured some money in the bank – or it could land on a Danger sign.

As the game progresses, the players can continue to grow their jackpot as they answer questions correctly.

The players will answer up to six questions, with cash prizes ranging from £10,000 to £100,000.

If a player were to take part in a perfect game, they could end up winning an incredible £250,000.

At the very end, they will face the enormous task of playing one final ball called the Moneyball, which could make the difference between leaving with the cash that they’ve earned or going home with absolutely nothing.

It’s high risk – but extremely high reward.

Moneyball begins tonight at 6.30pm on ITV.
