Great British Bake Off’s Nadiya Hussain has revealed she can no longer watch the beloved Channel 4 show that catapulted her to superstardom in 2015 ‘like she used to’.
The baker, who recently shared she’s always stopped and searched when travelling to America, won the show’s sixth series on the BBC, however, now sees the programme from a different perspective.
‘I got asked to do Strictly, but I said no,’ Nadiya disclosed. ‘I love the idea, but have no rhythm and I enjoy watching it too much; once you see how a programme works from the inside, it changes how you see it.
‘That’s why I can’t watch Bake Off like I used to.’

Besides being invited to participate on Strictly Come Dancing, Nadiya also let loose that she was asked to be a contestant on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which was relocated from Australia to Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She continued to the Guardian: ‘I got asked to do I’m A Celebrity this year, and a bit of me regrets not doing it.
‘It’s just so cold in Wales: if I’m going to have cockroaches in my pants I’d rather it be in the sun, thanks.
‘Still, I can’t help wondering what it would have been like.’
Nadiya’s brand new two-part BBC documentary Nadiya’s American Adventure kicks off tonight and follows the star as she travels to two of the most diverse vibrant hubs in modern North America – Louisiana and California – to find out how generations of migrants are changing the national menu.
The first episode sees Nadiya in New Orleans where she meets people keeping old Creole traditions alive and travels to Cajun country where she spends time with a family fishing in the Louisiana swamps.
