A year on from the death of actress Naya Rivera, fans have flooded Twitter sharing their love for the late star.
Rivera died aged 33 on July 8 2020 after going missing on a trip with her five-year-old son Josey.
She had rented a pontoon boat at Lake Piru but when staff found the overdue vessel later that afternoon, only her son was on board while Rivera was missing.
Five days later, Rivera’s body was recovered from the lake in California on July 13, with her cause of death being ruled as an accidental drowning.
The actress had a profound impact on her fans, and they are still devastated by her death.
Now they have shared their love for Rivera on Twitter to commemorate the anniversary.
Many of them expressed that they were still shocked that she is gone.
‘It’s been one year without Naya Rivera. I’m still shocked that she’s not physically here with us today. But, she’s in a better place. I know she’s smiling down at us. We miss you and love you, Naya,’ one person wrote in an emotional post.
‘A year ago today we lost our queen #nayarivera. No one can replace her place in Hollywood. She’ll be missed forever. REST IN POWER,’ another fan said.
Another wrote: ‘Today marks one year since the tragic death of Naya Rivera. Still so shocking and sad. She’ll always be such an inspiration. Keep resting peacefully.’
A variety of fans said they would ‘never forget’ the star and that they plan on honouring her memory forever.
‘Miss you so much Naya… you will always be in my heart,’ one person tweeted.
‘May you continue to give us your strength today and always. May you continue to laugh like this wherever you are. Thank you for giving us all your love, for teaching us to love and be better people,’ said another.
Rivera started her acting career when she was just four years old, as she played Hillary Winston in 15 episodes in the Eddie Murphy-produced sitcom The Royal Family.

She went on to star in shows like Family Matters, The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Smart Guy and Even Stevens, and appeared in 11 episodes of The Bernie Mac Show after initially being hired for one guest episode.
However, it was in 2009 when she landed her breakthrough role as Santana Lopez in the Fox musical comedy Glee.
Rivera’s character navigated a variety of storylines including relationships with Finn Hudson (the late Cory Monteith) and Noah Puckerman (the late Mark Salling) and coming to terms with being a lesbian.
In the last series of the Fox show, Santana married fellow McKinley cheerleader Brittany (Heather Morris).
