Netflix is delivering the goods once again this month as plenty of shows return for what is sure to be another great season.
Indeed, the streaming platform will see the likes of You, On My Block, and The Babysitter’s Club return in October.
Elsewhere, new programs including Colin in Black and White, Pretty Smart and Maid are hoping to capture the interest of audiences.
Meanwhile, reality shows are back with a bang as Sexy Beasts and Love Is Blind: Brazil are sure to get the people going.
Here’s the full list of new releases coming to the streaming service in October.
Diana: The Musical (October 1)
Diana: The Musical was meant to launch on Broadway in March 2020 but was recorded without an audience during the pandemic and will now launch on Netflix first.
The project follows a fictional take on the Princess’s life, with reported scenes including her relationship with James Hewitt and the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles.
Directed by Christopher Ashley, it features the original Broadway cast, including Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles, and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.
The Guilty (October 1)
The film is a remake of the 2018 single-location Danish thriller about a kidnapped woman.
The project sees Jake Gyllenhaal star as an LAPD officer who has been demoted to 911 desk duty. Suddenly, a strange call from a woman on a drive with her babies leads him to believe she’s not a willing passenger.
He becomes obsessed with trying to help her, using his investigative skills to find out more information about her and her abductor but struggles with the limitations of being sat behind a computer.
Sexy Beasts: Season 2 (October 7)
Sexy Beasts is the reality dating series in which singletons are totally made over using make-up and prosthetics to resemble different creates, from an alien to a hammerhead shark to a devil.
They will only be given a chance to see what their potential love matches actually look like after deciding who they’ve taken a fancy to.
Naturally, the first season was a huge success and now viewers will get to enjoy six more episodes.
You: Season 3 (October 15)
Everyone’s favorite murderer is back for what is sure to be another intense season as Penn Badgeley’s Joe becomes a father for the first time.
Teaser has hinted that the former book store owner is about to go to the darkest places yet as he soon forms an infatuation with someone new.
Yup, after moving to a suburb with his girlfriend, Joe’s up to his usual tricks again as his attention turns to another potential victim in the neighborhood.
Colin in Black & White (October 29)
The limited series will explore the sports star’s experiences of being a black teenager living with a white adopted family.
Netflix describes the show as a ‘bold new limited series that chronicles Kaepernick’s coming of age story, tackling the obstacles of race, class, and culture as the Black adopted child of a white family.’
The 33-year-old activist will feature as the narrator of the six-episode series, while Jaden Michael portrays Young Colin, before he went on to reach the highest levels of American football as an NFL quarterback and becoming a cultural icon and activist.
